Brian Black has over six years of experience as a petroleum geologist. His experience includes stratigraphy and sedimentology, fluid flow characterization, structural geology, and technical computing. He came to RMOTC in the fall of 2004 to work on RMOTC’s data management project which includes reinterpreting all of the surface and subsurface geology in preparation for building a dynamic geological model of the Teapot Dome oilfield. Prior to working at RMOTC, Brian worked in Houston, TX for Landmark Graphics Corporation as a geosciences consultant where he trained, mentored, and supported geologists and geophysicists in using Landmark interpretation software. During that time he frequently traveled to areas around the United States and Canada leading training classes in Landmark interpretation and data management software. Prior to Landmark, he was an adjunct faculty at Utah Valley State College where he taught Introductory Geology classes to freshman students. Brian has MS and BS degrees in Geology from Brigham Young University with an emphasis on stratigraphy/sedimentology and reservoir characterization. |
